Warranty & Care

Warranty & Care Information

At Rydan, we carefully select materials and manufacturing partners to ensure every sofa and chair is built to provide long-lasting comfort, durability and character.

Our products are crafted using high-quality upholstery materials, hardwood frames and carefully considered seat interiors designed for everyday living. As with all upholstered furniture, natural softening, texture variation and signs of use will develop over time and form part of the furniture’s character.

This guide outlines our product guarantees together with helpful care advice to help you maintain the appearance and longevity of your furniture for years to come.

Frame Guarantee

All Rydan sofas and chairs are constructed using high-quality hardwood frames designed for long-term durability. Selected collections include frame guarantees of up to 25 years against manufacturing defects. See product page for details.

Upholstery Guarantee

Our fabrics and leathers are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of up to 2 years from delivery. See product page for details.

As upholstery materials are natural and tactile by nature, characteristics such as softening, creasing, shading, texture variation and wear in high-contact areas will occur over time through normal domestic use and are not considered faults.

Natural woven fabrics, including Harris Tweed, may show signs of wear more readily in areas subject to repeated friction or contact.

Seat Interior Guarantee

Seat interiors are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for up to 2 years from delivery. See product page for details.

Over time, all upholstery fillings will naturally soften and settle with use. This is a normal characteristic of upholstered furniture and does not indicate a defect.

Regular plumping, rotating and dressing of cushions is recommended where applicable to maintain comfort and appearance.

Exclusions

Our guarantees do not cover:

  • General wear and tear

  • Accidental damage

  • Pet damage

  • Misuse or neglect

  • Colour fading from sunlight or environmental conditions

  • Pilling, bobbling or flattening consistent with normal domestic use

  • Commercial use unless agreed in writing

Fabric Care

To maintain the appearance and longevity of your upholstery, we recommend:

  • Vacuuming fabrics regularly using a soft brush attachment

  • Avoiding direct sunlight where possible to minimise fading

  • Cleaning spills immediately using a clean, dry cloth

  • Avoiding harsh household cleaning products

  • Professionally cleaning upholstery where appropriate

Loose fibres, shading and texture variation are natural characteristics of many woven upholstery fabrics.

Harris Tweed Care

Harris Tweed is a natural woven wool fabric with a rich texture and heritage character.

To help preserve its appearance:

  • Avoid excessive friction in high-contact areas

  • Vacuum gently using a soft upholstery attachment

  • Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight

  • Dab spills immediately with a dry absorbent cloth

  • Use professional upholstery cleaning services where required

As a natural woollen weave, Harris Tweed may develop signs of wear over time in areas of repeated use or contact.

Leather Care

Leather is a natural material that will soften and develop character over time.

We recommend:

  • Dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth

  • Cleaning using appropriate leather care products only

  • Keeping leather away from direct heat sources and prolonged sunlight

  • Wiping spills immediately

  • Conditioning leather periodically where appropriate

Natural markings, creasing and tonal variation are normal characteristics of genuine leather.

Cushion & Seat Interior Care

Seat and back cushions should be regularly plumped, rotated where possible and dressed to help maintain their appearance and comfort.

All upholstery fillings will naturally soften with use and develop a lived-in appearance over time.

Fabric & Leather Protection

For additional peace of mind, we also offer Stain Guard Protect 6 on selected collections.

Protect 6 is a specialist aftercare and protection plan designed specifically for upholstered furniture. In addition to helping protect against accidental spills and staining, it also provides access to professional cleaning and repair support for a range of accidental damage scenarios, helping to keep your furniture looking its best over time.

Cover can include assistance with accidental staining, minor accidental damage and specialist support where appropriate, subject to the terms of the protection plan.

Please note that accidental damage, staining and misuse are not covered under our standard product guarantees.

Claims & Support

If you experience an issue with your furniture, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible with photographs and proof of purchase.

In some cases, we may arrange an independent inspection to assess the product before determining the most appropriate resolution.
